THE THINGS THEY CARRY...
On a typical traveling adventure, the Aerial Angels pack the following items in - and on top of - our touring vehicle, a 1998 Toyota Camry:
- One collapsed 24-ft hot pink tripod
- One or two aerial hoops/lyras
- Large "blue bag" containing, but not limited to, the following:
Aerial silk, apparatus rigging, pulley and pulley
rope, rig base rope, rig hardware, 6-9 fire
torches, 2-3 fuel pots, can of fuel, fire torch
repair kit, 2-4 bull whips, newspaper, bunch of
celery, bull suit costume, bull whip repair kit,
tinfoil, safety rope, costume repair kit, aerialist
repair kit, yoga mat, 3 hat-pass bags, can of
Tuffskin
- Trapeze
- Fender sound system
- Three mics, packs, corresponding cords, & receivers
- As many iPods as performers in car
- iPod cord (for shows)
- iTrip (for interminable hours in car)
- Costumes bag
- Merchandise bag (t-shirts and DVD's)
- 3 or 4 carry-on size personal suitcases
- 3 or 4 laptop cases containing 3 or 4 macs
- 3 or 4 "mom" size purses
- 3 or 4 pillows
- 3 or 4 aerialists
- 187 mix CD's (everyone's CD library now lives in the Camry)
- One empty fuel tank
THE THINGS THEY USE
In a typical touring week, the Aerial Angels will consume the following:
- One local newspaper.
- Two bunches of celery.
- One can of fire-eating fuel.
- One bottle of Sun-in.
- One half-bottle of sunscreen.
- One pound of coffee (Flame only).
- One bag of baby wipes.
- One bag of make-up wipes.
- Two and a half pairs of fishnets.
- Three to six hotel keys.
- Twelve wifi hotspots.
- 1,335 cell phone minutes.
- Equivalent of 87 bottles of H2O.
QUICK FACTS
- Isabella knows the answer to every Trivial Pursuit question, and not from memorization.
- Luna wears a sweater in 90 F to keep the chill off.
- Flip has had more sports-related injuries than everyone else in the group combined.
- Flame chose her name BEFORE she ate fire.
- Mimi ties her shoes using a bizarre, ancient lace pattern.
- Duke is headed to Texas for grad-school this fall. He is thankful he will no longer be the tallest person in town.
- Star directs liturgical drama in her spare time.
- Spike's hair takes 47 minutes to dry, using an industrial hair dryer.
