Something Worth Watching

Something Worth Watching
And another week begins at Stand Up Eight rehearsals. We have four days left in Grand Rapids and then the whole troupe moves to Dekalb. We work for a full week in the theatre the show will be in, which is awesome.

There are many pieces to this puzzle. Acts need to be rehearsed in specific places can't do a tramp wall act without a trampoline, or a wall. Can't do a silks act without the height to do a triple. There needs to be time to practice flair juggling, the tongue to tongue fire transfer, and let's not forget the actual script.

It's a lot to put together. It gets frustrating when performers are in more than one act and, understandably can't practice all their acts at once. And there's just so much time one can practice without fear of injury.

Injury is always at the back of the mind.

So is the big picture. We can see this show and what it's going to become. We can see all the pieces sliding successfully into place. We can see Stand Up Eight being something unique, something different, something worth watching.

Which is always the goal isn't it? We want something worth watching.
