The scary part is not performing at 35 feet. Or flying around the room on the silks while the winch takes me to 45 feet and back down again, which is in fact incredible and easy and fun.

The scary part is climbing through and over the catwalk railings, carabiner-ing the rig sling around my waist and sliding it down the wire, balancing on the 3 foot by 3 foot platform sixty-five feet above the two pastors and the eight-piece band and the choir and the video screens and the electric violinist, and transferring to the hoop, a tiny bit too low to be really comfortable here, hand on railing, other hand in loop, slide down the safety, hand holding wrists with the rigger who slowly releases the hoop to hang under the pick point, unclip the rig sling from my waist (It wouldn't be a comfortable hang, but it would beat the heck out of the splat), push off the rigger's hand to start the spin and descend.

The second scary part is riding back up into the cats, pulling up my feet out of sight of the audience, holding the bars of the catwalk to pull the hoop in close enough to wrap the rig sling around my waist again, hook my legs over the edge, lean back into thin air and slide under the bars to lie flat on my back on the grid floor while they take off the hoop and swap in the silk above me.

The actual routine? Piece of cake.
