Know what I like about Thanksgiving weekend? It's my big stay-home holiday. After working every weekend since the beginning of February and spending the last 4 1/2 months more or less continuously on the road, I have spent seven straight days letting my ass become one with the couch.

Sure, not all of it is time re-reading my collection of Brit mystery novels and reading gofugyourself.com (Thanks, Shoe). I have spent a bit of time updating the booking chart and planning out the upcoming year, agonizing over who goes where for New Year's, etc.

But I did have a four day span where I don't think I left the house once. I have eaten anything I feel like (thank God I don't binge like I did in high school anymore! I still eat ten things, but only about three bites of each. Maybe my attention span has gotten hey let's go ride our bikes!), written "work out" on my list five days running and not crossed it off (though that one day was NOT my fault, I was supposed to work out with another Angel who blew me off to come out to their parents, so I guess I can forgive them) and worked my way through the leftovers of a fifteen-pound turkey, four boxes of stuffing, a big pot of mashed potatoes and enough gravy to bathe in. Which I would. I adore gravy. I did have one day where I roasted vegetables and made turkey soup and cleaned rather a lot of the kitchen, and I have sorted through some files, but overall, I am starting to get to the point where an episode of My Super Sweet Sixteen comes on and I go, Oh! this is the one where she demands an ice sculpture of herself in her dress and then changes the dress and makes them re-sculpt and re-freeze in time for the party!

Fortunately, Spike came over today to rescue me from my gradual descent into Couch Hell. We spent a few hours stretching, conditioning and practicing partner acrobatics, carefully lining up in the room to not hit the sewing table or the light fixture. Spike, who *has* been practicing, was very encouraging and nicely did not mock me for only being able to do half the amount of leg-throwdowns she could do. I felt ok about about the deltoid flies until I realize she had the 3 pound weights and mine were only 2....

But hey, we learned a new trick and got a couple that had been problematic, and I discovered I can use my single feet independently to balance her in shoulderstand on feet, when before I had only used both feet together. If this does not make sense, think of it as suddenly realizing that the pointy thing on the right of your plate is there to make smaller bits so the multi-tined thing on the left has an easier job...it made it about that much better.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled couch...
